You know the saying, “It takes a village”? Well, in my little North Carolina village, it takes a village to keep me entertained! There’s always some kind of get-together happening, but my favorite has become our book club. These ladies have expanded my reading horizons in a big way through literary adventures.

My Current Obsession: Sarah J. Maas

Case in point: Sarah J. Maas. I’m not sure I would have ever picked up her books on my own, but now I’m a total into this type of writing. Her Court of Thorns and Roses series is just…mind rotting goodness.

  • A Court of Thorns and Roses
  • A Court of Mist and Fury
  • A Court of Wings and Ruin
  • A Court of Frost and Starlight
  • A Court of Silver Flames

(Yes, I’m eagerly awaiting the next installment!)

  • The Assassin’s Blade
  • Throne of Glass
  • Crown of Midnight
  • Heir of Fire
  • Queen of Shadows
  • Empire of Storms
  • Tower of Dawn
  • Kingdom of Ash

(I’m about to buy “Kingdom of Ash” and can’t wait!)

A Quick Detour

This fall, I also took a detour into Rebecca Yarros’ Iron Flame series. Fun, but not quite on par with Maas (in my humble opinion!).

Always on the Lookout for New Literary Adventures

Honestly, I read a little bit of everything. I often think that Kindle and Audible were two of the best gifts ever given to chronic readers like me. I’m also thankful to book clubs for expanding the book repertoire of adult readers like me.

What books are you reading? I’m always looking for great books to share with my neighborhood book club. Feel free to comment and let me know your favorites. Remember, I’m an equal opportunity reader.

Side note: if you need a book club snack, maybe try these candied pecans!
